Lattelog is a personal concept for a cozy, gamified mobile app that turns the daily coffee ritual into a delightful collecting experience. As the sole product designer, I handled the end-to-end process—from UX strategy to the final UI and an interactive prototype—with a focus on creating a strong, emotionally engaging brand

The Concept

Most journaling apps are functional but lack personality. Lattelog is an answer to the question: What if a coffee journal felt as warm and satisfying as the coffee itself? The core idea is to create a "cozy" digital space where users can build a beautiful collection of their coffee experiences, turning a simple log into a rewarding hobby.

The Challenge

As the sole designer, my main challenge was to design a complete mobile app experience from the ground up. This meant defining a unique visual identity, creating intuitive user flows for core features (like adding an entry and browsing your collection), and building a high-fidelity prototype that truly captures the app's cozy and engaging feel.

My Approach

My process was focused on creating an emotional connection with the user, not just a functional tool.

  1. Defining the "Cozy" Aesthetic: I developed a design system with a warm, inviting color palette, playful typography, and custom illustrative icons to move away from a sterile, database-like feel. The core metaphor is a "digital shelf" where your coffee memories are displayed like treasured collectibles.

  2. Gamified User Flows: Drawing on my game design background, I mapped out user flows that included subtle, rewarding feedback. The rating system uses coffee beans instead of stars, and completing an entry feels like adding a new item to a collection, not just filling out a form.

  3. Prototyping the "Happy Path": I built a comprehensive, high-fidelity prototype in Figma that demonstrates the core user journey, from onboarding to adding a new coffee and viewing it in the journal.

Outcome & Next Steps

The result is a fully-realized design and prototype for a unique mobile app concept that showcases end-to-end product design skills. Please Note: This is a living project, and this case study is a work-in-progress.
